Yesterday the Israeli police announced that they had collected enough evidence to recommend that Rabbi Mordechai “Moti” Elon be indicted on charges of sexual crimes committed against his students. Rabbi Moti will be tried for alleged crimes of sexual abuse perpetrated against several Israeli children and teenagers. The offender had found his victims during his rabbinical and pedagogical activity during many years.

The filing of a fifth lawsuit claiming USA Swimming failed to protect young swimmers from alleged sexual misconduct by coaches is bringing calls for new leadership at the organization that critics say has fostered a culture of covering up abuse.

"It is now clear USA Swimming is more interested in protecting its images and its coaches…than in protecting children from molestation," said Robert Allard, an attorney now representing two former swimmers in suits against USA Swimming, the governing body of the sport in the U.S.

Jancy Thompson, a former Olympic hopeful who alleges that her former swim coach Norm Havercroft at West Valley swim club in San Jose, CA began sexually molesting her when she was 15-years-old, spoke out publicly for the first time yesterday, inspired, she said, by a 14-year-old victim who came forward in an ABC News "20/20" investigation earlier this year.

Born in Philadelphia in 1929 and graduating from that city’s La Salle University in 1950, he joined the Paulist Fathers the same year. The Paulists are an order of Catholic priests dedicated to ministry to those outside their church through the media.

Paulist Father Ellwood (Bud) Kieser was the founder of Paulist Productions and the highly acclaimed television series Insight. Beginning in 1960 he worked in the entertainment community in Hollywood as a priest-producer, using television as a vehicle of spiritual enrichment.

In 1958, Father Kieser established an institute of adult education in theology intended for persons of all religions. He directed the institute until 1964.

In 1960, Kieser created Insight a television series designed to exploit the humanizing potential of television and use it as a vehicle of spiritual education.

In 1972 and 1973 "Insight" won the Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Religious Programming.

In 1973, Kieser received a Ph.D. in the theology of communication from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. His dissertation was titled “Cinema as Religious Experience.”

In 1981 through 1984 "Insight" won the Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Religious Programming.
