Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) -- Police announced 15 new suspects in the January killing of a Hamas leader at a Dubai hotel, bringing to 26 the number of people suspected of involvement in his death.

Authorities previously had released a list of 11 suspects in the killing of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a founding member of Hamas' military wing. Al-Mabhouh was found dead in his hotel room January 20.

Police believe he was killed the night before and suspect the Mossad, the secretive Israeli foreign intelligence unit, was behind his killing.

Among the new suspects are six more people who allegedly used British passports in the commission of the crime, four others using Irish passports, two other French passport holders and three people, including a woman, traveling on Australian passports, police said in a statement Wednesday.

The total number of suspects using British passports is now at 12, police said, along with six Irish passport holders and four French passport holders. Another suspect using a German passport was announced earlier this month. The three Australian passports are new.

The Land Down Under is none too happy to have itself added to the slew of nations caught up in the passport fiasco surrounding the targeted killing of a top Hamas chief by an elaborate hit squad.

A day after it was announced by Dubai police that more false passports were found to have been used by another 15 assassins, Australia has issued a statement CONDEMNING Israel, whom authorities have blamed for the killing of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh.

"I made it crystal clear to the [Israeli] ambassador that if the results of that investigation cause us to come to the conclusion that the abuse of Australian passports was in any way sponsored or condoned by Israeli officials," said Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith, according to CNN, "then Australia would not regard that as the act of a friend."

EU Condemns Use Of Fake Passports In Hamas Assassination

EU foreign ministers meeting in Brussels on Monday have strongly condemned the use of fake European passports used in the killing of a Hamas official in Dubai last month.

European Union foreign ministers issued a statement condemning the use of forged EU passports in the killing of a leading Hamas militant in Dubai.

"The EU strongly condemns the fact that those involved in this action used fraudulent EU member states' passports and credit cards acquired through the theft of EU citizens' identities," the declaration issued Monday said.

Although the statement avoided any explicit mention of Israel, Dubai authorities have said they believe Israel's secret service was involved in the killing. Israel has refused to confirm or deny any involvement.

The foreign ministers are to meet with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman later on Monday.

The alleged killers of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh used 11 forged passports from Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Ireland when they entered the United Arab Emirates. Al-Mabhouh was found dead in his Dubai hotel on January 20.

Alleged Killer Left Traces in Cologne and Herzliya, Israel

The Israeli intelligence agency, the Mossad, will neither deny nor accept responsibility for the murder of Hamas weapons dealer Mahmoud al-Mabhouh. But one of the alleged Dubai assassins, a man working under the alias Michael Bodenheimer, left traces in Cologne, Germany and Herzliya, Israel.

The man who came into the Cologne citizen registry office in early summer 2009 was in a hurry. He introduced himself as Michael Bodenheimer and requested a national identity card and a German passport.

He was an Israeli citizen, he explained -- he had moved to Germany in mid-June. He offered proof in form of an Israeli passport that had been issued in Tel Aviv in November 2008. As proof of his eligibility for German citizenship, he provided the marriage certificate of his parents, who had fled Germany to escape the Nazis. According to the Article 116 of the German constitution, "former citizens of Germany, and there descendants, are entitled to German citizenship."

A Mossad Hit Backfires On Netanyahu … Again

THAT same old feeling for Benjamin Netanyahu must be excruciating. And it is probably cold comfort for the Israeli Prime Minister that his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmoud Abbas, is likely to suffer along with him.

When Netanyahu last was his nation's leader, Mossad served up a dish of malodorous failure when it bungled the attempted assassination of a future leader of Hamas. That was in 1997, when the spy agency's plan to inject a mysterious poison into Khalid Mishal's ear turned to farce in the streets of Amman in Jordan.

Twelve years on, Netanyahu has again let Mossad loose and as a result he now presides over a diplomatic and PR nightmare in the wake of an otherwise successful hit on another senior Hamas figure who the Israelis claim was about to close an arms deal in the United Arab Emirates.

As is often the case in the Middle East, this one has percolated slowly - the body of the arms dealer Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was found in Room 230 of the plush Al Bustan Rotana Hotel on January 20.

But it was not until this week - with Mabhouh long in the grave and seemingly forgotten in the wider world - that the whole business erupted as a media sensation for Netanyahu.

Had Mossad's indiscretion been to offend just the Dubai sheikhs, already on their knees financially, Israel might have fobbed them off - possibly enlisting Washington to back-channel a half-hearted apology.

But in an operation that almost certainly required a personal sign-off by Netanyahu, Israel has given deep offence in London, Dublin, Paris and Berlin - because the Mossad team used these governments' passports as cover for its hitmen in Dubai.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Dubai police said they'll issue a warrant for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if an investigation concludes that Israel's Mossad intelligence service was behind the murder in the emirate of a senior Hamas official.


"For Mossad to carry out operations outside of Israel, the prime minister must have signed off on it," police chief Dahi Khalfan Tamim said in a telephone interview Friday. "When you carry on an assassination operation in someone else's territory you should expect a response."

The UK has expressed "outrage" that six British passports were used.

Germany Calls For Israeli Explanation Over Dubai Killing

Berlin is demanding answers from Israel over the killing of a senior Hamas commander. A suspect in the killing is reported to have been carrying a German passport.

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle has called on Israel to explain itself over the assassination of a senior member of the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

"In view of the information revealed so far I believe it is imperative to clear up thoroughly the circumstances surrounding Mahmoud al-Mabhouh's death," Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said in a statement.

Al-Mabhouh was killed last month in Dubai, where he was allegedly planning to buy weapons. Police in Dubai have said they are almost certain that Israel's secret service agency, Mossad, was behind the killing.

They have released the names and photos of 11 suspected members of a hit squad believed to have been involved in the killing of al-Mabhouh, who was found dead in a hotel room. All had European passports - six from Britain, three from Ireland, one from France and one from Germany.

The international police agency Interpol, which believes the passport identities were stolen from real individuals, has placed the suspects on its most wanted list.

DUBAI (AP/Arab News) – Dubai police appealed for an international manhunt Tuesday after releasing names and photos of an alleged 11-member European hit squad accused of stalking and killing a Hamas commander last month in a plot that mixed cold precision with spy caper disguises such as fake beards and wigs.

The case — as presented by Dubai authorities — rings of clockwork espionage and detailed planning that included suspects riding the same elevator as Mahmoud al-Mabhouh before he was slain in an ambush-style attack in a luxury hotel room that took no more than 10 minutes.


But questions emerged about the list of suspects after Dubai authorities released pictures, names and passport photos identifying them as six Britons, three Irish and one each from France and Germany.

All the countries except Germany have insisted the passports were faked.

The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card, a portable memory chip, holds personal identity information, cell phone number, phone book, text messages and other data.

"Apparently Austrian phone numbers were used," interior ministry spokesman Rudolf Gollia told AFP. "But we can't say anything further. The investigations are underway and we're in contact with Dubai police."

Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported today (Weds) that analysis of telephone calls made in Austria showed that the operation’s "commando centre" had been in the Alpine Republic.

The leader of a Messianic Jewish ministry is pleased that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently proclaimed the fulfillment of the prophecy in Ezekiel, Chapter 37.

Speaking on the recent 65th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz in Poland, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proclaimed the fulfillment of the prophet Ezekiel's vision of the valley of dry bones.
