A Thorn In The UN's Side: Google De-Lists UN Watchdog

Journalist Who Exposes U.N. Corruption Disappears From Google

NEW YORK — How big do you have to be to earn the wrath of the United Nations and Internet giant Google?

If you're journalist Matthew Lee, all it takes are some critical articles and a scrappy little Web site.

It began with an innocuous-sounding yet chilling form letter from Google to Lee, e-mailed on Feb. 8:

"We periodically review news sources, particularly following user complaints, to ensure Google News offers a high quality experience for our users," it said. "When we reviewed your site we've found that we can no longer include it in Google News."

As soon as he read it, Lee immediately suspected one thing: That someone at the UNDP had pressured Google into "de-listing" him from Google News — essentially preventing Inner City Press from being classified on Google News as a legitimate news source and from having its stories pop up when someone conducts a Google News search.

Over the last couple of years, Lee has proved to be a constant — and controversial — thorn in the U.N.'s side.

Hi Johnny,
This report about Inner City Press and journalist Matthew Lee is astounding. It made me remember some information I was reading after following a link Setterman gave to a "News With Views" article by Andrew C. Wallace.

I don't know anything about Wallace or his credibility, but it was an interesting read with more links. So, I've got some questions for you. First, what is your take on the "Global Research.ca Centre for Research on Globalization" site and the info
reported there-in? There is an article by Brent Jessop titled,
"Pentagon: The internet needs to be dealt with as if it were an enemy "weapons system".

I also read through the 2006 released 'Pentagon's Information Operations Roadmap' which he sites in his article. There is a great deal of "blacked out" areas in the Pentagon report, and I had a hard time determining if what Jessop is claiming is implied in the document is accurate, or if the document was strictly speaking of "military" technology on the battlefield. In other words, should we be alarmed or not. If you get time this week, maybe you could take a look and tell me what you think. The actual Pentagon report is here:

One other "new to me" site might also be of interest to you. It's called 'The MIPT Terrorism Knowledge Base'. It describes itself as, "is the one-stop resource for comprehensive research and analysis on global terrorist incidents, terrorism-related court cases, and terrorist groups and leaders." Thanks for all your hard work and help. -Rudi

Please keep us posted as to whether or not Google's so-called "glitch" is rectified in the promised 2-3 weeks.

rudi,

Great article from Wallace!

Global Research.ca Centre for Research on Globalization is an Anti-Global Governance Think Tank site from a secular view. Great double checking on their sources rudi, thats a great habit not to break away from.

Brent Jessops "Pentagon: The internet needs to be dealt with as if it were an enemy "weapons system" is scary and true (Note The Project for a New American Century (PNAC) has been confirmed with researcher extrodanaire Dennis Cuddy along with other distinguishing investigators).

Especially in regards to the George Washington Universitys' archive released through the Freedom Of Information Act, other researchers, such as Devvy Kidd, has cited other documents from there as legitimate sources, even though a large portion of FOIA documents are, most of the time, blacked out (Why I wonder Why?).

MIPT is an EU Pro-Global Governance Think Tank site.

It's fantastic all of this information is out for everyone to see.

Rudi, my take on it all is just double and if possible triple confirm all sources.

Awesome Rudi!
